Q: What are your tutors' qualifications?
Our tutors are full-time credentialed teachers, substitute teachers, retired teachers or experienced private tutors. Many of them have other credentials. We check references, conduct a background check, interview all tutors, and observe their technique in a mockup tutoring session. Less than 1 in 3 applicants meet our standards.

Q: How Does BrightStar Tutors differ from a learning center?
We are a locally owned business, not a franchise. We offer convenient “In-Home Tutoring,” have better rates, and do not teach a predetermined program but a personalized one based off your child’s course curriculum.

Q: Why are the rates for more personalized services so affordable?
Our rates beat our competitors because we utilize a special computerized office management system. This system dramatically reduces our administrative costs enabling us to pass the savings onto you.

Q: What subjects can BrightStar Tutors help my child with?
We draw from a wide range of talented tutors each of whom has their own subject specialties. Pre-calculus, Reading, Algebra, foreign languages, Chemistry, Geometry, … you name it, and we can find someone who can teach it using your child’s course materials.

Q: What geographical areas do you service?
We work primarily in Alpharetta, Atlanta, Buckhead, Decatur, Duluth, East Cobb, Marietta, Roswell and Sandy Springs. If your area is not listed, contact us anyway as we pride ourselves in being flexible and promise we will do our best to help you find a tutor.

Q: Do you work with learning disabled or special needs children?
Yes, many of our tutors are Special Needs certified and work with your child’s I.E.P. or 504 Plan. Brightstar Tutors excel at pairing your LD or ADD or ADHD student with a tutor who will understand their needs and how to adapt each tutoring session to ensure your child success.

Q: Are there any tests my child must take before being tutored?
No, assessment tests (which can cost up to $200.00 in a learning center environment) are not a prerequisite of Brightstar Tutoring services.

Q: Will tutoring sessions always take place in my home?
Our goal at Brightstar is to make the tutoring session convenient to you. Be it your house or your local library, we will make it work at a time that fits your schedule. Note: we require some type of guardian over the age of 21 be present at each session.

Q: What if my child doesn't like the tutor?
If, after the first session is complete, you do not think the tutor is a good match with your child, you will not be charged for the session and another tutor will be contacted.

Q: Do you require a ‘minimum sessions commitment’ like other tutoring services?
No, we do not have any long-term contracts. However, we strongly suggest a minimum of four sessions in order to really see progress.

Q: Do you tutor students in college?
Yes, we have tutors who are very capable of tutoring college level courses.
